| Pure Lotus just opened a second restaurant in Beijing - this one at the Lido Holiday Inn in NorthEast Beijing near Jiuxianqiao Lu. As with the original Pure Lotus, the food is very good. The presentation is excellent (the oranges in dry ice at the end was a feast for the eyes). But pumpkin soup remains a favorite. And I prefer to stay away from the fake meat and order straight vege dishes (esp anything with mushrooms). Fruit drinks are once again inventive and delicious. The room is quite nicely done and very classy but at the same time new age and trendy. Service was attentive, but a little off as it was the first week of opening. There are 3 very pleasant private rooms in the front which seat 6-8 people each. Perfect place for a corporate party. I was quite impressed with this place, but I would say that the original location at Changhong Bridge still serves up better food. But the new location in Lido Center has a nicer atmosphere. |
